To the Brothers of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Maryland, I want to thank each of you for the confidence you had in me by electing me to the office of the Senior Grand Warden.
I believe we can go far if we use the 13th verse of Philippians, Chapter 4, of which I will change from "I" to "we" to allow it to relate to all of us. “We can do all things through Christ which strengthen us.” Using this scripture and by us communicating with each, we can receive wisdom, and through wisdom, get understanding. Using this scripture and statement, we can and will accomplish MWGM Melvin M. Thorpe’s motto, “Let’s Finish What God Started.”
So let’s go and work steadfast in the vineyard that those before us and Prince Hall has prepared for us. Let’s build buildings if we must, but make sure they’re on a sound foundation. Let us continue to be one family, or we will have labored in vain.
